First ever session!

The program had its first lesson day on October 27th, 2017 and will run for four weeks, every Friday, with the last riding session on the 17th of November.

The new riders mounted their horses on the very first lesson day, and have since quickly picked up the basics of the sport. This is all done at no cost to the family.

ABC 36 was there on the 27th to produce a short segment featuring footage of the kids learning to groom and eventually mount, as well as a quick clip from an interview with the President and Founder, Brie Thompson. The video can be seen below:

A few days prior an article was published in the Lexington Herald Leader, about the goals and objectives of the program as well as the start date. You can click the link below to read the full article:

The four week session will have its last lesson day this Friday! The next day the kids will perform a demo of their newly acquired horse knowledge based on their instruction, which has been skillfully executed by Masterson Station Park's Georgia Ockerman.

The demo day will be a chance for the children to take pride in their know-how and abilities (which include grooming, mounting, steering, walking, trotting, etc.) for their parents and members of the horse community. The event will be catered with homemade food provided by AT&T.

We at Race Street Riders would like to thank everyone who made this possible, and we would like to thank you for your continued support of the program!
