RSR History

Helping The Community

Race Street Riders was founded by Brittany "Brie" Thompson in Lexington, KY on March 20th of 2017. On August 7th of 2017, RSR received full nonprofit status and became a  legal 501 (c)(3).

Race Street Riders' name was inspired by the actual street in Lexington called Race Street. Before there was a Keeneland, horse races were held in downtown Lexington around Race Street, and the jockeys were gifted African American horsemen.

Our logo is a Kente cloth patterned silhouette of a horse and rider jumping. The Kente cloth pattern is a symbol of minority achievement in education and service to society and is usually given to outstanding African American college graduates.

At RSR, we aim to give the horse riding world back to the community and using that to encourage excellence in our inner-city youth.
